National Geographic’s Giant Traveling Map returns to Hawai’i!

MEDB Women In Technology rented Nat Geo’s Giant Traveling Map of the Pacific Ocean to showcase during GIS Day celebrations throughout the state, as well as to loan to schools for hands-on geospatial exploration fun for students.  The 35 feet by 26 feet giant map heads will be showcased tonight, December 14th, at UHMC’s GIS nightCertificate Program: A Night at the Aquarium at the Maui Ocean Center from 5p.m. to 6p.m.

The Giant Traveling Map visits Maui schools this week! Mahalo to Pomaika’i Elementary School teachers for allowing students the opportunity to explore the map’s features and mahalo to Jaydon Isobe for capturing his 4th grade students in action:
